Jim Rome Clone Report

Today on the Show

The show started with a "Quad Yeah" followed by Jim with a slow,"yeah" and a "struggling" ala Joe Namath. Rome then gave and upbeat "What is up?"
With jet lag and just pure lack of sleep, Rome makes it back to SoCal for Friday's show.  After saying he was a little punch drunk from lack of sleep, Jim went on to lay out some of his thoughts about yesterday in Cleveland during and after the show. Right after , he had a TV interview. Then 2 meetings with advertisers were followed by spending  time with some clones. Finally Jim and Kyle made it to the listener party which was actually a lot of work and they didn't have time to eat! They had to eat at the airport, arrived in LA and was stuck in the plane on the tarmac for a while. Jim got to bed at 1am and was up at 4:45 Friday!

E mailers were offering odds on how many "5 Hour Energy's " Jim would need to make it through the show.

Topics

Michael Vick appears in his first preseason game with the Eagles.
He got in for 6 plays total, 5 at QB and 1 as a wide out. Rome felt the only thing revealed was that Vick still has a strong arm. Jim 's main take was that Vick's presence was eventually going to cause problems and grief for Donovan McNabb.

Brandon Marshall gets suspended for the rest of the preseason for conduct detrimental to the team.

Brett Favre gets irritated when asked if there is a schism in the Viking locker room.

Guests

Ron Jaworski (Former Eagles QB, NFL analyst)
Asked what he thought of Vick last night, he said,"Nothing special, what I expected." He then went on to express feelings of potential problems having Vick used in "certain situations" at QB. He compared it to 1986 when  Randall Cunningham was used in 3rd and long situations when Jaworski was Eagles QB.

Orel Hershiser (Dodger great) talked about the Little League World Series, which he is working for ABC.

Rodney Harrison (former NFLer and NFL analyst)

Jim asked Rodney about Brandon Marshall. He said despite contract situations, players have to handle themselver as professionalls.  "He has to grow up, mature, and understand that you have to go out and play football and everything else will take care of itself."

Odds results

Officially, Jim made it through the show with 1 "5 Hour Energy"

  1. I heard parts of that show live since I only worked till noon. I liked his stories about the listener party and how a clone wanted to buy Kyle a shot and he turned it down saying he doesn't drink at work or something and then the clone called him out and said I guess it is ok to call the show drunk.

Also clones were sending over bottles of Bombay to Rome's table that was cool.

I laughed a lot. Thanks for doing this blog. I usually don't get back to the show when I'm hone even though I have the streamlink. There is just so many other things to do and I have to sleep sometime. Later man.
