Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

Summary of today's Jim Rome Show

Jim began the day with a take on:

Tiger Woods

Tiger's caddy, Steve Williams was in the news. He did an interview. In it, he told "TV 3's" 60 Minutes that he knew nothing of Tiger's extramarital affairs. He even said he was mad at Tiger because of all of it.
Jim Rome was skeptical. He commented, "...didn't know anything, or knew everything. One or the other I'm sure...The number one rule for any caddy is: Never, ever talk about you player...or you'll be looking for a new job. And you'll be luck to find another one..."

Jim expressed that he thought Tiger wants Williams to say the things he said in order to appease Elin Woods.

MMA

Former boxing champion James Toney is crossing over to MMA.  Rome said, "...shockingly UFC head Dana White is going to give him a shot...This is the UFC...the majors."
And, as Jim often says, he is hoping for an "A" or an "F" from Toney.

The New JimRome.com

Jim read an E mail:
Dear VAAANNN SMAAACCKK! Now that's a website! Regards, James in San Diego."

The new website is up. Jim joked that he is no longer in 1994. The old format had been around for years. Stream link subscribers are now known as "Jungle Insiders".

Interview

Nick Schuyler ( Author of "Not Without Hope")
Nick was the lone survivor of a boating accident last year that claimed the lives of former college football player Will Blakely, Detroit Lion Corey Smith, and Raider Marquis Cooper.
It was a compelling interview of a man involved in a tragic story. Nick said he wrote the book, in part, to set the record straight. Many rumors surrounded the tragedy. Seventy miles offshore their boat overturned. All four men were in the water for a long time. Hypothermia set in. Nick spoke of the effects of hypothermia and how it damages the organs and can cause poor brain function. He told of seeing his friends die. "Devastating, heart wrenching...," were some of the words he used to dscribe the ordeal.
Nick credited Will Blakely with saving his life when he swam back under the boat to get food, life jackets, and Gatorade.

This topic was discussed for the better part of the show. Nick's dad, Stew even called in to express his support for his son and to say how painful the events have been for all the families involved.

Text

One text was read at the close of the show:
"War Guidry back in the Jungle and war me living 10 minutes from Northville Downs and coming to meet Romey in a couple of weeks in Michigan, Emilio Textavez."
