John in C-Town

  The old school caller, who once dubbed himself "The legal guardian of the Jungle" called the show today. John is also famous for being the subject of the anonymous tape sent into the studios years ago. It was a mix of some of his calls. "Lunch with the monkey" is the most famous line in the tape.

Today, John (who is now in New Hampshire) came in to call the station manager of the C-Town affiliate on the carpet regarding the moving of the show's first hour to a sister station with a weak signal. John said he is headed to Cleveland on family business but will stop at the affiliates studios if need be to get that first hour back! (He said he would not, however, be having lunch with him.)

Greg in Sun Valley

   I got on for the first time in a few months. I announced that I was NOT the next candidate for a voice box transplant surgery. Next, I commented briefly on the "toughness" issue in the NFL. I got out after that, saying I believed Trapper was waiting on hold for his turn on air.

Rome explained to new listeners that I was a "legit" call...not "technology gone awry". He added that Greg in Sun Valley had come to the (Santa Anita) track and seen him. Further, Rome added, "...talks smack with his voice box.....great guy, great voice box, great rap..."
