Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

Notes on today's show

A few topics

"Dirty" Jets

Jim talked about the Jets second loss in a row. Worse than that, he had to cover the actions of one Sal Alosi. Mr. Alosi, the Jets strength and conditioning coach stuck his knee out to trip Dolphin return man, Nolan Carroll during a return. He tried to do it covertly but the cameras caught it and it's, well, viral.
Rome said, "...Get out of their way and let them play.....Why don't you just get one of Tonya Harding's goons to bang his knee with a pipe?...

"Can I have your autograph?"

After getting beat at home, Cowboy Tashard Choice went to ask Michael Vick for his autograph...for his nephew. Rome said, "...That's a bad look, my man. Time and place..." Jim was OK with the autograph, but didn't think on the field, at home after a loss was the right place.

Callers

   John in Green Bay
He called to complain a little about the Packers' coach. After mentioning
Vince Lombardi, John said Mike McCarthy never gets on players like he did
the refs on Sunday during the Packers loss.

  Jeff in Tampa
He referenced Sal Alosi's actions and mentioned it could have been a worse
injury result. He said Sal was messing with Carroll's livelihood.

  Nick in Reno
In part of his call, he said his wife "gave him the foot"..."like saying, 'That's
weird'." - regarding the knee by Sal Alosi.

  Joe in Green Bay
Joe said others are making "Packer fan" look like an idiot by calling for coach
    McCarthy's firing.

The return of the E mail Contest winner

Jim said he wants to name a winner of best E mail of the day again. Today the finalists were Victor by Broadway and Mike in San Diego (The Giants win the pennant. The Giants win the pennant.)
Vic cracked on E mailers like Stu in Manhattan, Craig in Tampa, and Blaise in K.C., saying they just sit behind their computers while legends have taken car of business on the phones as well as E mails.
Mike referenced some old school "faxers". One in particular was "Gaucho" Bill, the founder of the Rat Family.
Mike won.

Text Contest Selections

Triple U Sponsor: "People who put Christmas decorations on their cars...."

Triple U: Jim said, "Ugly Bob tried to send me a text on Def Leppard....You know what you are?...You are BLOCKED!....You're now BLOCKED Bob, not Ugly Bob..."
