Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

Clones, Comments, and Moments from Today's Show

(Today's Report is abbreviated)

Opening

Rome started with the NBA finals. Today is game 3.

E mail

The song "Loser" began to play....an E mail from Eric in Falls Church followed.
Rome emphasized his "war". Eric warred Jim having him do the text contest one day this week.

Lane Kiffin

Rome brought up Lane Kiffin. I believe he appeared on JRIB yesterday.
Just the name "Lane Kiffin" brought in many Tennessee E mails cracking on the guy.

A caller from LA, believe it or not, took the anti-Kiffin side. He tried to make an analogy casting Jim and Holly Robinson-Peete as character in the Tennessee-Kiffin saga. The caller said that Holly said that Jim Rome was the one guy she would leave Rodney Peete for. "AAAAHHHHH!!!" The manual buzzer sounded. Jim was not happy that the caller said that, since it wasn't true. Rome played the tape.

NBA Commissioner David Stern

Jim did an interview that he said had a lot of give and take. To me, there was disagreement and a little friction. Rome asked about the officiating in Game 1 and 2. He asked if the referees would let the players, especially the stars, "play more" in Game 3. Stern asked if Jim was suggesting that they should not call a foul when they see a foul. They then disagreed a little about "star treatment".
The interview ended well when they talked baseball and the subject on Stern coming on the show when he was no longer NBA Commissioner.
