Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

 Friday Format

Today's Show

Jim recapped Game 4 of the NBA Finals. He talked about Glen Davis and Nate Robinson coming through for the Celtics. Some funny lines: "...same guy you saw slobbering all over himself...Somewhere buried in all that flesh is a big heart."
Of Lamar Odom, Rome said, "...he should say, 'Gimmie the fat kid!'."
Jim also had on former NBA and ABA player, George "The Iceman" Gervin.

My Favorite Interview of the Week

George Gervin
He was very interesting. He had insight and opinions on today's game in general as well as the Finals.  I particularly liked his view that former ABA teams and players brought an up tempo game to the NBA. He loved the ABA's red white and blue ball, and gave accounts of Dr. J.

My Top 5 Funny Moments of the Week

5. - Israel in Los Angeles getting run. He's a quick talking caller that has gotten on a lot recently. He's was taking a run at Vic in NoCal when the buzzer sounded. He went too far with "feminine hygiene" smack.

4. - Rashad Evans imitating his mom telling him, "Don't talk about what you're gonna do."

3. - Phil Jackson and Doc River's statements to the press this week. Phil talked about Doc looking like "he was shot out of the starting blocks" when he ran onto the court calling a timeout. Doc's response, "Derek?" to Chris Mannix' question about Derek Fisher drawing fouls and running through screens.

2. - Rome response to the question, "How do you spell 'you'?" when the alternate E mail address, Romeyyourock@gmail.com, had to be used. In a breathy voice, he said, "Y-o-u".

1. - A part of Stu in Manhattan's E mail today. He was cracking on Indianapolis. He was saying that the affiliate there would give Jim a historical tour. One part was, "We'll take you to see a man that can actually read and write...and a man that can count to ten. (paraphrased) I laughed out loud. (but I still couldn't hear it)
