Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

Clones, Comments, and Moments from Today's Show

NBA Finals

Jim said that all the Lakers have to do is hold home court to make his series prediction come true! Problem is, they're facing a lot of problems!
Andrew Bynum isn't "right", and Boston seems to have the momentum. Also, Rome questioned whether other Lakers didn't step up last because it was "all Kobe" or whether Kobe took over because no one else stepped up. Jim felt it was the latter.

Ron Artest apparently said that the Lakers are losing "close" games this year in the Finals...not blow outs like two years ago. I guess he was referring to him being on the team this year. Rome said, "Ron, are you kidding me?"

Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo Sports was interviewed. Dave "no longer in Albany" liked it. He E mailed to the effect, "...Forget Rondo or Kobe for Finals MVP. Wojo and Yahoo are the MVP's this postseason.

Quintuple Yeah?

The announcer at Zenyatta's latest race let out a massive "YES" when she added to her consecutive win streak.
Clones wanted to add it to the "Quad Yeah!". It sounded like a "yeah" at first, but then we learned it was a "yes", so it couldn't be added!

E mail on the subject: (paraphrased) "Why are we even talking about a quintuple yeah? I thought we all agreed we'd go with a "Quad Butt-hole" on Friday's." (Beav in Chicago)
Rome said, "WE agreed?" Jim then played the tapes and compared the two again.

Alvin is back!

Sound engineer Alvin Delloro is back after taking time off due to the death of his brother. Every early E mail was expressing a welcome back to Alvin.
Jim brought Alvin on the air to talk about his brother and all the support he and his family got from the show, people on Twitter, and all the students that were touched by his brother's life. He was a college professor.
Jim said that Alvin showed "courage, class, and dignity under pressure."

Vuvu what?

Rome told us about the use of horns called "Vuvuzela's" by fans at World Cup Soccer games. "It sounds like a stadium full of bees!," Jim said. He then played the sound from one of the games.
It did sound like bees! Jim then joked that he would do the show with the sound of the horns playing. Instead, he took a call.

Callers

Jaime in Santa Barbara called, started to talk, then the sound of the horns or "bees" started up. "Jaime!," Rome yelled like he couldn't hear him! Jim then apologized and said he couldn't hear Jaime over the roar of the "bees". Jim decided to take another call.

Ryan in Indy
He came on and the "bees" did too! Rome asked, "Are you there?" Ryan raised his voice and said, "Yeah man!" Then the "bees" came on even louder! Jim said, "Sorry bro."

Charlie in LA
He got a turn! Rome said, "What's on your mind?" Then the "bees" made their return! Jim said, "I feel badly for that..."

Jeff in Boulder
   It happened to him too!

E mails

"OMG....The poor callers!...I'm dying here.(laughing)

"...Best segment ever"

"Will the Bose "Quiet Comfort" noise blocking headphones block out the noise from the Vuvuzelas?

Jim did a "test". First the horns came on...then silence when, apparently, Jim put the headphones on. "Yes, they do," Rome said.
