Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

Friday Format

Today's Show

Jim covered Game 1 of the NBA Finals, which was won by the LA Lakers.  He felt guys that made a difference were Ron Artest and Pau Gasol.
A new fan submitted photo on Facebook had Jim and the XR4ti as the "A-Team". Jim broke out a sound byte of Steve Nash saying, "Alvin's incredible...(he) deserves an incredible amount of praise." He was presumably referring to his coach, Alvin Gentry. Rome played it as Nash referring to sound engineer Alvin Delloro! It was a funny bit.

My Choice for Interview of the Week

Dallas Braden
This Oakland A's pitcher, who recently threw a perfect game, came on with energy, yet was humble. He honestly told Jim that he had the count wrong in his head when he faced Gabe Kapler in that game. Also, he has that great story of getting that perfect game on Mother's Day with his grandmother, who was there for him after the death of his mother, in attendance.

My Top 5 Funniest Moments of the Week on the Show

5. -Jim's story of his uncle paying him $25 dollars to go a year without candy
     when he was a kid.

4. -When telling us about the XR4ti being cast as the A-Team in a picture,
Rome said, "J. Stew as Bad Attitude Barracas." He then added that Kyle
Brandt said, "More like Bad Breath."

3.-Today's caller, Steve in Tucson got run! What was funny was that I
knew the buzzer was about to sound! I thought it would be purely for his
pregnant pauses. Rome also didn't like Steve's "...looking forward to the
    107 degree weekend."

2.-After Jim's candy story, Lee in Vancouver E mailed "Hey Trapper. I'll give you
25 bucks not to call the Jim Rome Show for a year.  Rome then responded,
"You'd have to pay him 30 pieces of silver."

1.-Rome's response to the audience is some of his funniest stuff. After
receiving E mails about Rue McClanahan's passing, Jim said, "...I will not
    dignify your imbecilic behavior!"
