Shaq vs Jim Rome
Shaquille O'Neal is not happy with Jim Rome. In fact, he wants to box him!
After Jim's comments about Shaq not approaching the game with the dedication
and discipline of Kobe Bryant, Shaq went on Twitter with his thoughts. He challenged Rome to a boxing match "live at ESPN studios". He added that if he lost, he would donate his salary to the charity of Rome's choice.
Jim said today, "I'm not sure I want to get my face caved in for the veteran's minimum." Rome added in jest, "...Does he know I'm 3 weeks in to P90X?"
Also, Jim said that if Shaq and the Celtics get out of the East and beat the Lakers he would take it all back.

He is also a regular E mailer. Today he called himself the resident "A-Fraud" hater. He glossed himself the only "2 sport" star in the Jungle besides "Broadway Vic". He cracked on Kyle Brandt, was going on a while, then warred Mike in Chicago injuring himself while wrestling himself, and giving himself a "one arm choke"....Then "AAAAAHHHH!" The manual buzzer sounded!
Jim asked, "Did I announce the Smack Off was today?" (Presumably due to the length of the call.) He added, "...You should be Dave in St. Louis, non-caller."
The other big story of the day
MMAer Chael Sonnen came on. He is challenging Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight title this Saturday. He has been saying many controversial things leading up to the fight. The most controversial was non-MMA related. In a phone interview he said that Lance Armstrong "gave himself cancer" (presumably through steroid use.)
Jim called Chael on this. Chael denied making the statement. Jim, however, had audio of the statement. It sounded exactly like Chael. Chael continued to deny that it was him on the tape. In fact, he said it sounded like a guy with a Hispanic accent. Jim was nonplussed.
Rome took calls from two different people who said they worked in the field of voice recognition. They both said it was Chael on the tape in their opinion.
A little later, Rome interviewed the guy that did the interview in question. It was Larry Pepe of Pro MMA radio.com. Larry confirmed it was Chael and told Jim that he had interviewed Chael 5 times.
