Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

Today on the Jim Rome Radio Show aka "The Jungle"

Jim started off by saying it would be an open phone first hour, followed by a "Nooooooo!"(Some calls of late have been subpar.) He reminded the callers to know what they are going to say when J. Stew answers the phone.

Buffalo Bills fans
Rome said that the Buffalo Bills fans are some of the best. However,"One moron has made them look like some of the worst. Some knucklehead reportedly vandalized Leodis McKelven's lawn after he put it on the ground (fumbled) against the Patriots Monday night." Jim further called the vandal an idiot and said that the act was a violation of the "man code" and was a reason to "go".

Yankees/Blue Jays
A benches clearing brawl took place at their game last night. Rome said it  "was a good fight, a legitimate basebrawl."

E Mail

"Hey Rome, during that Yankee vs Jays fight last night, I was about to take the elevator down to get myself some of that, Signed, Suzyn Waldman." (Waldman's famous clip was played as well as the one where the commentator wanted to go down and be a part of a fight the Miami Hurricanes football team had.)

Jim Tressel
He has been getting some heat from fans and bloggers since the lost to USC. Jim Rome thinks he doesn't deserve it. Rome commented that he may have had too much success too soon." He had a National Championship his 2nd year, which raised expectations greatly." Jim further said that it now appears that winning 10 games a year and beating Michigan is no longer enough.

Lane Kiffin
Lane is no longer calling out Urban Meyer. Now he is complimenting Florida's team. Jim thinks Lane is trying "to not make things worse than it's already going to be" right before the game.

Rex Ryan
Jets coach sent out a voicemail to his season ticket holders (as well as the Jim Rome Show). In it he says they need the fans this week against the Patriots. Rome "played" it at first as though a season ticket holder would think it was a personal voicemail left just for them. Then Jim imitated Bill Belichick making such a voicemail message.

Caller

A guy named Greg (in Sun Valley) called in.

Caller

Bodie in Pearland called in. He said he tried to get through yesterday since he says his nickname was given
to him after the character in Patrick Swayze's movie, Point Break.

Guests

Jeff Gordon (NASCAR #24)
Six years into "The Chase", he is a supporter of the format, calling it "our version of the playoffs." He also said going into the year he was not only looking for a fast car, but one that worked well on 1.5 mile tracks. After the interview, Jim mentioned the NASCAR disclaimer which is a compilation of sound bites that has Jim mentioning what good guys the NASCAR drivers are.

Ronnie Brown (Miami Dolphins RB)
Asked about the offensive line after a week one loss, Ronnie said they fell behing early and thus had to pass a lot and the O-line had a difficult task. Establishing the run was hard at that point. He also said going from a 1-15 season 2 years ago to an 11 win season last year has made other teams view them differently.
