Jim Rome Clone Report

Today on the Show

Rome started with the Vikings vs Texans game last night. "Quite a night for the old gunslinger, Brett Favre." Jim said Favre had a really good night, that is when he wasn't "cracking back illegally on DB's." Jim said,"He threw a nice ball and stayed within himself...and just managed the game." As far as the cut/hit, Rome thought is was illegal and cheap, but not dirty.

Adam (Pac Man) Jones is going to the CFL.

The LA Dodgers trade for Jim Thome and Jon Garland.

Indiana Pacer Danny Granger is encountering building code and local law road blocks while trying to build a "Bat Cave" at his home. He has broken ground, though!

Caller

Eddie in Boise called in to attempt to redeem himself again after 2 memorably bad calls. After apologizing for his previous calls he then started to regurgitate over played and old sound bites, and Jim dropped the manual buzzer.

J. Stew

Photos were release of J. Stew's appearance on " Gary Unmarried".  E Mailers hit Stew with 'FAT' references.

Guests

Kyle Whitttngham (Utah U. Football Coach)
He spoke about their success last year and how it has helped in recruiting. Also, he wants in the BCS.

Marvin Lewis (Cincinnati Bengals Coach)
Rome brought up HBO's Hard Knocks and Lewis agreeing to have the team as the subject of the show.  Also, Carson Palmer and his injuries were discussed. And, of course, Chad Ochocinco was brought up. Lewis is pleased Chad is back on board.

Art Schlichter
This was and extensive interview that took up most of the third hour of the show. Art spoke candidly about his gambling addiction, the money crimes he committed to feed his gambling, and his time in prison. He has a book out called,"Busted, the Rise and Fall of Art Schlitcher"

Text Contest (Phil Guidry)

"War umpires using the manual buzzer for called 3rd strikes." Phil in the Twin Cities

"Dear Rome, I thought you said,'Suck, don't have a take' sorry, Eddie in Boise."

"Hey Romey, who caters for Gary Unmarried? I want stock in that company." Riley in the 805

Triple U sponsor: "The guy in the airport on a dead sprint." Craig full of Clout

Actual Triple U:  "Hey Rome, Stew's performance in booking NFL coaches has been impressive but it's got nothing on regarding his performance at the buffet."

Result: Jim said it was barely readable. No warning, no BLOCK.
