Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

Summary of today's Jim Rome Show

Right out of the box, Rome said it had been a while and asked for a "Quad Yeah". (And the sound bite was played.) He then said it was "awesome to be back".

Cowboy's over Panthers
Jim's take was that is was not a big win, but a must win. With the Cowboy's new stadium, Jim said it's hard to charge $100 for a pie(pizza) and a beer when the home team is losing. Further, he said it was apparent theat Tony Romo was trying to not make mistakes and..."what would they do without their running backs?"

Washington Redskins
Rome said, "The Redskins are a disaster."
An E mail on the subject: "Hey Romesky, 'Hip hip, now I'm done', yours, the coach that lost to an 0-19
                                           team."
Delonte West
Jim brought up the story of Delonte West being pulled over and letting the cop know he had a gun in his waistband. That's not all. He also had a 357 Magnum strapped to his leg and a shotgun in a guitar case. Jim had glossed Delonte "the king of the correspondent piece". (A segment on Jim's TV show, Rome is Burning, where an athlete acts as a reporter for Jim.)
Holding Delonte accountable for this behavior, Jim stripped Delonte of the title. Rome also asked, "Haven't you seen what happened to Plaxico Burress?"
E mail on the subject: "Weapons in my bag, weapons in my bag, extra, signed D. West."

Terrell Owens
Jim says "Mount T.O. is abut to erupt. The Bills lost again and T.O.'s streak of consecutive games with a reception (185) was snapped. In addition, Rodney Harrison called him "a clown" on NBC. Owens fired back on Twitter, "I coud care less about Rodney Harrison. Anybody that's using steriods, yes Steroid Rodney, is a cheater..."

Guests

Josh McDaniels (Denver Broncos head coach)
He is happy to be 3-0. Rome pressed him about being vindicated by the 3-0 start, but Josh wouldn't agree to put it in those terms. He did admit that wins are a positive reinforcement to what they are presenting as a coaching staff. Coach McDaniels is a subscriber to Jim Rome's streamlink. Jim asked him to bring up favorite Jungle moments. He mentioned an old call from Shawn Marion that didn't go too well and Steve Elkington's "seeing cat" comment.

Al Leiter (Former NY Met and NY Yankee)
Al started with, "... I had to retire after all this time to talk to you." Rome brought up him being on the Mets right after 9/11.  Al said, " For months is was a somber feeling." Shea Stadium was a staging area for the the Fire Dept.and Al said they would help load supplies, then go play a game. Of Mike Piazza, Leiter said he was a good leader by example and stature.

Patrick Willis (SF 49ers)
They talked about the last second loss to the Vikings. Patrick said that loss hurt. Jim asked him about Coach Mike Singletary's reaction. Patrick said Singletary was supportive of how they played, agreed the loss was tough, but continues to stress "finishing" and playing 60 minutes of football. Asked about his early success ( 2 Pro Bowls) Patrick said he is thankful of his situation and gave credit to his teammates.
After the interview, Rome called Willis "A modest, humble young stud".
