Jim Rome Clone Report

Today on the Jim Rome radio show aka "The Jungle"

Jim Rome started out with a Mark Madsen like "YEAH".

Bills vs Patriots
   Jim,"Memo to the Buffalo Bills,'Put the coffee down. Coffee is for closers only'." (Movie sound clip of Alec Baldwin saying that was played.) Rome went on, "...smacking the Patriots for 57 1/2 minutes, only to step out for a smoke break during the last 2 1/2 minutes is going to get you beaten."
Terrell Owens said he had nothing for the media afer the game.
Jim concluded, "What an absolutely gut wrenching, backbreaking, soul ripping loss in week 1, even for the Bills. I mean, what a absolutely brutal, brutal loss, even for the Buffalo Bills."

Raiders vs Chargers
  The Raiders cam from ahead to lose also. Jim said, "It was all right there for Oakland. They were at home, prime time, their maniacs, miscreants, and myopians were foaming at the mouth in the stands. LT fumbled,  sprained and ankle, the Chargers lost a couple of O-lineman,....Richard Seymour showed up , making plays. All they had to do was finish, for once, just finish!"

Patrick Swayze
   He passed away . He'd had pancreatic cancer. Jim mentioned how cool he was. Movie clips were played and references were made a few times during the show. Jim was pleasantly surprised how most clones treated his passing with dignity and respect.

Tennessee vs Florida
   Florida has been very quiet leading up to the game. One quote came out from Tim Tebow, "I don't like anybody talking bad about Coach Meyer."  "Rome said, "That's and expletive laced tirade for Tim Tebow. That's a for syllable bomb. He's comin out of the chair. That's the most pointed comment I've ever heard tim Tebow utter."

Dwight Freeney (Indianapolis Colts DE)
   He talked about being on defense and keeping the opposition from making a comeback or last minute score. Also discussed was the departure of Tony Dungey as coach. Dwight said he was missed but they have confidence in their new coach.

Dustin Keller (NY Jets TE)
   Jim discussed with him how the coach and the team were very confident going into week 1 while the press had their doubts about the Jets. Dustin said the team bought into what Coach Ryan said and did.

Theo Epstein (Boston Red Sox GM)
   He talked about the Red Sox turn around since losing 2 to the Tampa Bay Rays and 4 to the Yankees earlier in the season. Also, he let us in on a running gag he and John Papelbon have going on with public comments about each other. ( In good humor.)
