The Taser Incident
A big topic on the show today was the tasing of a 17 year old male who ran onto the field during a Philadelphia Phillies game.
There was the requisite "don't tase me bro" clip played.
Some serious discussion also occurred as to whether the use of the taser was justified. Jim Rome felt it was. He cited that players and officials don't know a person's intentions when they violate the rules and the law and enter the field of play.
Callers
Chris in Madison called to offer an opinion from the law enforcement point of view. He said he carries a taser, and has himself been tased. (I'm guessing in a training setting. He didn't say.) Chris added that the intent of the tresspasser does not matter. He felt the Philadelphia police officer's use of the taser was justified.

This long time caller also weighed in on the side of law enforcement on this subject.
Yahoo Sports line
The online news source said, "He fled security for a few seconds until a Philadelphia police officer fired a Taser gun at the boy from about 15 feet away, dropping him on the spot in left center field."
This line was funny to me. "...in left center field"
...Like it was a dropped fly ball or something!
He sought permission
Jim also told us that the boy called his dad during the game to ask permission to run onto the field. Thankfully he has a father that said no. Unfortunately, he didn't listen to his father.
Rome also parodied how the boy would tell his grandchildren of the event in the future.

"War me running into the Jungle studios to see if I'd get Tased."
"When it comes to the situation with this kid running onto the field, we have to ask, 'WWFD?...What would Forbis do'."
Also, Ugly Bob wrote in asking to be reinstated to the E mails. (He has been BLOCKED from E mailing the show.) Ugly Bob told Jim that he knows he misses UB's triple U E mails.
Rome said he actually didn't miss UB's E mails.
