Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

From Friday's Show

Callers in, callers out?

Jim welcomed two callers back to the show that had called Thursday as well.

Monroe in Milwaukee
He called back to pump his Bucks again. Calling Rome "Jimmy Jam", Monroe also weighed in with his choice of Brett Favre as the toughest athlete in sports.

Israel in LA
He said that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not on his list of toughest athletes. He also said that if "Money May" was greatest ever, he would fight Pacquaio without the need for any special steroid testing.   Then Israel went "too much information" again. He gave poignant personal information about his upbringing, followed by more "wrestling" talk.

A return Smack Off Caller

Chad in Portland, another Smack Off entry that didn't get in this year's extravaganza, called. He crack on his own Portland Trailblazers and Jon Alexander, aka "Trapper".  Known for his produced songs and parodies, Chad was going with another one...but had technical difficulties...twice! On the second attempt to play his production, there was "dead air". That's when we heard...AAAAHHHHH! The manual buzzer sounded.

Jim Rome commented that it was good that didn't happen in the Smack Off. He followed this up by saying that all three Smack Off invitees that didn't get on during the event but called this week did not make it to the end of their calls. (Greg in Sun Valley, Boadie in Pearland, and Chad in Portland)

Vic in NoCal on 610 The Sports Animal (Albuquerque)

The Smack Off winner was interviewed on Friday night. The interviewer was "Mike in Albuquerque"(Mike Trujillo) ...the guy with the tattoo of Jim Rome on his leg!

Vic was very mellow in the interview. He told Mike he was relaxing after a few "pops". The king of Smack dropped some bombshells: He thinks Brad in Corona is funny! ....and is glad Brad and Mike in Indy started calling, so as to keep the smack flowing in the Jungle since a lot of the old school smack runners rarely call the show except during the Smack Off.

Niems is back!

The caller that years ago composed the song, "Michael's Dad", which became the inspiration for "Whitey's Dad" had announce via Rome's Facebook fan page that he is back, and will be calling the show soon. Chad in Portland announced that it would be this coming week!
"Michaels Dad" is a song about Michael Jordan and his dad.

"Whitey's Dad" was the parody that Iafrate sang in his 2004 Smack Off winning call.
John Niems has written many other songs.
