Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

Clones, Comments, and Moments from Today's Show

Ernie Harwell

The passing of the Detroit Sports broadcasting legend was the big topic of the show today. Jim reminisced about and played tape of having Ernie at the Detroit Tour Stop and on the show for an interview.  Rome had nothing but praise for Ernie both as a professional and as a person.

Caller

Matt in Detroit called with a story about writing to Mr. Harwell in hopes of getting him to talk to his father. To Matt's surprise,  Ernie called back and left a voicemail with his home number for his dad to call!
Rome said it was a great story, but not surprising considering the type of man Ernie was.

Philly fan....again?

For the second night in a row, a Phillies fan ran onto the field during a Phillies game.  This time it was a 34 year old, named Tom Betz.

Rome said he wanted to take up for Philly fan, but that they "were making it difficult for him" to do so. "Where else would this happen," Jim asked.

Jim also played the clip, where you can here the fans chanting, "Taser, Taser!"

Kobe's Photo Shoot

Rome told of going to his driveway to retrieve his Sunday newspaper and seeing Kobe's "different" photo shoot.  I think the term Jim used upon seeing it was, "whoa!"
This also led to talk and reaction about who actually still gets or reads the newspaper.
