Jim Rome Clone Report by Greg in Sun Valley

Clones, Comments, and Moments from Today's Show
(Jim's sports takes and guests are up at jimrome.com under "recent shows".)

E mails

Vic in NoCal got in with an E mail today. The Smack Off winner has indeed been active.
(paraphrased) "...Did you catch Dallas Braden's act? (Perfect game) ...in the process... mowing down every last fool put in his way...sounds familiar (like the Smack Off) Signed, Broadway Vic." Further, he told J. Mohr to show up on time to host the show tomorrow, and "get a freaking alarm clock."

Mike in Chicago (Non-7 wood user) got in with an E mail that touched on Dallas Braden's grandmother and....wait for it......G.E.D. smack.
Jim was again chagrined. Rome ask, "What is it with you and G.E.D.'s? Did someone with a G.E.D. beat you out for a job?......"

Rome on Dallas' Perfect Game

"I love that. But I love his grandmother even more." Jim also commented that it seems that A Rod always comes out looking bad. Although his response to Dallas' perfect game was something to the effect of, "good for him", Dallas' grandmother said, "Stick it, A Rod." (In response to the earlier "mound walking" controversy.)

Niems

"Jim Rome...it's Niems from home..." The song got partially replayed today as some people wrote in complaining they had the song in their heads all weekend.

Callers

-Monroe from Milwaukee got in for the fourth time recently. He said this was his "Quad Call", "and, and, and, and ...I announce my retirement from calling...but if you invite me to the Smack Off, I'll be there."

Rome: "Gotta do more...actually, wait. Don't do more."

-Nick in Phoenix called in with props for his Phoenix Suns. He said that "1 through 12" the team was made up of good, accountable guys. He added that Steve Nash, like Denzel Washington, was a "Man On Fire".

-Bill in Hamilton, Ontario Canada called in with what he called a "Canadian perspective" on the Smack Off.  Of Vic in NoCal, he said, "Like him or hate him, he's good for the show." He began to crack on Mike in Indy for a bit when the manual buzzer dropped, "AAAAHHHHH!"

Jim said that Bill was a good guy but a bad caller. He further explained that some bad guys are good callers, while many good guys are bad callers.

Jury Duty E mail

Jim Rome has Jury Duty tomorrow! The E mailer asked if Jim was sure he would be eligible to sit on a jury since "there's probably a 99% chance that the defendant is a Clone...If it's a child support case, make that 100%."

MMA

Loyota Machida had reportedly been one of the latest to say that he drinks urine.
After his loss, Rome joked, "Somebody better hit Machida with a urine IV, stat!"
