Jim Rome Clone Report

(Note: A reader posted a comment asking who the guy was at Wisconsin Tour Stop long ago that cracked on Green Bay fans. The guy was Bill Plaschke, an LA Times sports columnist. Keep in mind if you are looking for something that was on the show, I may have covered it. You can type key words in the "Search This Blog" box to your right.)

Summary of today's Jim Rome Show

Petros and Money (Petros Papadakis and Matt "Money" Smith) out of Los Angeles, but with their own syndicated show, guest hosted the show today.

They started with a long opening about J. Stew's forearms.

Petros: "...J. Stew looks like freakin' Popeye..."

Money: "...Whoa. Those are Garvey-esque..."

They did a Rick Patino/Louisville/fire the football coach bit, then "flipped" it and Petros joked, "...If you have problems with the football program, fire Tim Floyd (Former USC basketball coach).

Lane Kiffin
They talked about Kiffin in relation to the situation at Tennnessee. Petros opined that the Tennnessee fans were upset, not because they lost a good coach, but because they felt they got played...by a "Yankee".

"Pants on the Ground"

The guys reset the American Idol auditioner that sang his original song about young guys walking around with their pant legs dragging on the ground.
They then told us how the catchy song made its way to the Minnesota Vikings post game locker room celebration where Brett Favre led the team in a short "Pants on the ground" cheer.

Interviews

Brian Baldinger (NFL Network)
His opinion was that the weekend's games were for the most part duds except the Jets/Chargers game. Brian talked about the Cowboys being disfunctional from the beginning of the game. He talked about the atmosphere for the road teams affecting both the Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals.
Asked about Keith Brooking's complaint about the Vikings running up the score, Brian wondered himself why the Vikings chose to pass the ball when the game was all but over. Baldinger picked the Super Bowl to feature the Saints vs the Colts.

Don MacLean (Former NBAer, FSN)
Don thinks the Denver Nuggets have the best chance to give the Lakers a challenge in the West. However, in the end, Don thinks the Lakers will represent the West in the Finals, if they remain healthy.
They also talked about the Oklahoma City Thunder possibly being a very good team in the future.
