Jim Rome Clone Report

Today on the Show

CLEVELAND!!

Jim Rome broadcasts from the studios of am 850 WKNR in Cleveland, Ohio. Jim started off telling us why he is in Cleveland.  He said,"This market and this station and this town and the clones in Cleveland have been critical to the growth of the Jungle. I would argue that the Jungle would not be what it is today without this station, WKNR, without this market and without the listeners here. That's why I'm here! To pay my respects, to say thank you for more than 12 years of unbelieveable support."

Many Cleveland anecdotes were shared, Tour Stop moments revisited, and Cleveland personalities and callers discussed.
Also , Clevaland Guests were on.

Guests

Mike Brown (Cavaliers Head Coach)
Mike said the off season went well, team needs were met. He said the size and length of teams like the Lakers and the Magic hurt them and that need was addressed with the acquisition of Shaq and others. Also addressed was Lebron choosing not to sign an extension with the Cavaliers yet. Brown said he had not spoken to Lebron about it once, yet.

Earnest Byner (Titans RB coach)
Earnest talked about his time with the Cleveland Browns as a player. He very frankly addressed the fumble he had in a crucial playoff game. It was over his head for years but the experience changed him and he is better for it.

Bernie Kosar (Former Brown great)

Bernie said he was a fan of the show. His first story was of being inspired by a soldier who lost his legs in Afghanistan and had spoken to the Browns team. Also, Rome brought up Bernie playing in a game in 1992 with a broken leg.

Grady Sizemore (Cleveland Indians)

Grady spoke about the high hopes the Indians had coming into the season and the disappointment of the season not turning out well.

Jim Brown (NFL Hall of Famer and Brown great)

Jim Brown talked about his antigang intervention program calle Ameri CAN. Jim Rome asked Brown about whether contemporary star Black athletes have a responsibility to use the forum and influence they have to speak out on issues.  Jim Brown brought up Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan and said he felt they were here for change, saying the big guns have to step up.
